How it works

How does Cora work?

Cora starts with a few questions about you and your baby, then uses that context every time you ask something. Here is what that looks like from setup to everyday use.

What happens during onboarding?

Onboarding is a short set of questions about where you are right now: your postpartum stage, your baby's age, how the birth went, how you are feeding, how you are feeling, and anything specific about your situation that Cora should know. It takes a couple of minutes and you can skip what you would rather not share. The reason it comes first is simple. A question about cluster feeding means something different at day four than at month four, and an answer that ignores that is not much help. Once you have answered, you do not have to explain your situation again every time you open the app.

  • A couple of minutes, not a long form
  • Skip anything you would rather not share
  • Explain your situation once, not every time

How does Cora personalize its guidance?

Everything you shared during setup travels with you into each conversation. When you ask whether a feed was long enough, Cora already knows your baby's age and how you feed, so the answer starts from your situation instead of a generic average. The tone stays the same throughout: calm, practical, and free of judgment about how you feed. What changes is the detail. You get fewer caveats about situations that do not apply to you and more of what is actually useful right now. If your circumstances change, you can update your details and the guidance follows.

  • Answers start from your baby's age and feeding method
  • Fewer caveats about situations that do not apply
  • Update your details whenever things change

How do credits work in Cora?

The Cora AI coach runs on credits. A set amount is included when you start, so you can try it without paying anything, and each question you ask uses some of that balance. When the balance runs out you can add more with a monthly or six-month subscription. Tracking is separate: logging feeding and pumping sessions, looking at your history, and seeing patterns are all free to use, whether or not you subscribe. Your current balance and what your plan includes are always visible in the app, so you can see where you stand before you ask.

  • A set amount of credits included when you start
  • Monthly or six-month subscription adds more
  • Tracking stays free either way

What does tracking look like day to day?

Logging a feed takes a few seconds: start the session, stop it when you are done, and Cora records the duration and which side you used. You can add a pumping session the same way. Over a week those entries turn into something you cannot see in the moment, such as how long the gaps between feeds actually are, or whether one side is consistently shorter. When you ask the coach a question, that history is there to draw on. It is also useful to have on hand at an appointment, when "I think it has been about every two hours" becomes an actual record.

  • Start and stop a session in a few seconds
  • See gaps, durations, and side preference over time
  • Bring a real record to your next appointment
